COMMITTEES

1.  COMMITTEE ON MINISTRY:  nine ministers and nine elders constitute this versatile committee, dealing with providing all particular churches with an appropriate ministry.  The duties are fully set forth in the Form of Government and the Manual of the Presbytery.  Having recently reorganized the committee now has four sub-committees: 1. Ministry to Churches, 2. Ministry to Inquirers, Candidates and Lay Pastors, 3. Ministry to Ministers and 4. Ministry to Unique Situations

2.  BOARD OF PENSIONS CHAIRPERSON

3. COMMITTEE ON REPRESENTATION:  This committee is organized as directed in the Form of Goverment to pursue the mandates of the Book of Order on fair representation on Presbytrery committees and offices.

4.  NOMINATING COMMITTEE:  this committee of nine persons is elected at large by the Presbytery on nomination by Presbytery Council. (three ministers; six elders: three women and three men). They serve only one term and nominates persons for Officers of Presbytery, Council Members at large, Permanent Judicial Commission, Umbrella Teams, Committees of Presbytery, and Committee Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons. In addition the committee presents nominations for General Assembly and Synod Commissioners and Youth Advisory Delegates and alternates and for representatives to fill positions within other governing bodies as needed.  The committee always welcomes suggestions for those able and willing to serve.

5. PERSONNEL COMMITTEE:  Carries out responsibilities as described in the Personnel Policies of the Presbyteries of Huntingdon. It meets at least once a year with each staff person jointly employed or called by the presbyteries, counseling them on matters relating to the staff person's office and duties and to his or her personal welfare.

6. CAMP & CONFERENCE COMMITTEE: this committee joins with the elected representaive from Northumberland and Carlisle Presbyteries to form the Join Camp & Conference Committee. It consists of six persons as per the January 1, 1976 Krislund Merger Agreement of Carlisle, Huntingdon and Northumberland Presbyteries: one Elder and one Minister of Presbytery(one of whom is the Committee Chairperson), one elected Financial Officer and three persons elected at large.The Camp Administrator serves as a resource person, with voice but without vote.

7. SELF-DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE COMMITTEE: reviews requests for Self-Development of People Funds. The Committee is developed in accordance with General Assembly guidelines.

PERMANENT JUDICIAL COMMISSION

Is elected by Presbytery on nomination by the Nominating Committee to consider any judicial cases that may be brought before it from time to time.

SEXUAL CONDUCT RESPONSE TEAM FOR ALLEGED VICTIMS

Consists of three elected persons from Presbytery: Two Elders and one minister of Word and Sacrament.

Memberes are: Elder Barbar Baxter, Rev. Anne K. Ard, and Mr. Murray Laite

SEXUAL CONDUCT RESPONSE TEAM FOR ACCUSED PERSONS

Consists also of three elected persons of Presbytery: Two Elders and one Minister of Word and Sacrament.

Members are: Elder Allen Gibboney Esg., Elder Nathaniel Smith, and Rev. Lee E. McCardle

ORGANIZATIONS

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN:  for more than a century the mission of the whole church has been supported by organizations within many particular churches, and these have allied themselves to each other in organizations at the presbytery, synod and General Assembly level. Historically known by various names -- "The Women's Presbyterial Society" and "The United Presbyterian Women" -- its incomparable work continues as "Presbyterian Women of Huntingdon Presbytery".
