HUNTINGDON PRESBYTERY NEW ORLEANS MISSION TRIP JAN 6-13, 2007
The work will involve assisting churches and individuals with damaged properties. Present work includes- cleaning up yard debris, cutting tree limbs, removing stumps, removing/cleaning furniture etc, removing sheet rock, insulation, flooring, etc. We will not do mold remediation. We will be working with FaiThWorks - a cooperation of small Presbyterian churches in the New Orleans area. Housing will be in the Faith Presbyterian Church in Harvey. They will provide a carpeted floor and air mattresses, showers and bathrooms, and a kitchen. Meals will be provided either by the group or by Faith P.C. At least one dinner will be in a local restuarant. Cost will be $25 deposit plus your airfare to New Orleans. Everyone will make their own flight arrangements to arrive Sat afternoon and depart Sat afternoon. Local transportation and food will be provided. Requirements: a willing heart and able hands are the most important. We will get dirty, be tired, and sleep on air mattresses. Flexibility and a good sense of humor are helpful. Perks: a chance to make a difference in peoples lives, work with brothers and sisters, and grow in faith and awareness of our awesome God.
